Downtown

All five of my Kodak Retina cameras are post-war models that have excellent lenses.  The IIc is looks nearly new and works very well.  The others show more wear, but are still very capable shooters.  My goal is to spend some time with each of them over the next month.

Perhaps it is just me being nostalgic, but I have always felt that the Retina lenses have a very 1950s quality to them, rendering just wonderfully in black and white.

That could be right, though I've gotten very nice color from them as well. I'm going to try some different film possibilities in my Retinas over the next month.

That is one nice lens indeed.

The picture of the columns receding into the distance is quite striking. The tonality is perfect. You demonstrated why film still has a special "look" despite what the film-haters on the big photo site claim. What film and developed did you use, and which Retina/lens?

My Retina IIc has the Xenon f:2.8/50mm lens. The TMAX was processed in HC-110, dilution B.
