2926

I've been watching the restoration of the 2926 locomotive for the ten years we've been in Albuquerque.  It looks like all the parts are back together.

On the day of my visit the task being worked on was making the whole thing water-tight.  That is quite a challenge as there are hundreds of old brass fittings that must withstand very high pressures.

The camera was my Fed-1g with the Fed 3.5/50 lens.

Nice shots! How do you find using the Fed vs the Barnack Leica?

Not a lot of difference in results as I use the same Soviet lenses on both cameras. The film advance on the Leica is very smooth compared to the FED. The early FED ltm cameras sometimes have problems with film alignment due to variations in the height of the take-up spools and the film cassettes. They probably worked fine with the original Soviet spools and reloadable cassettes. Mine works well if I lay a penny on top of the film cassette.
