Close to Home

This wicker chair has been sitting for months beside the road a half block from my house; I pass by it daily when I'm walking the dog.  I have made pictures of the chair with several cameras. This is the one I have liked most so far; it was shot on Kentmere 400 in my Yashica-Mat.

The summer monsoon weather pattern has been bringing some nice clouds overhead.  I saw these above the alley a half block to the west of our place late in the afternoon.

I really like the shot of the chair, left along side the road. We can create our own ideas of the stories this chair could tell from your photograph. Nice work on your dog walk.

Yes, I had similar thoughts about the presence of the chair and how it came to be there.

The wicker chair is superb. The textures and shapes pop out at you. We, no wonder, big negatives in the hands of a skilled user.

Thanks for that very kind comment. The chair shot was one I had to go back to look at a couple times to reach the decision to post it. As you note, the detail captured by the big negative was the deciding factor.
