After our visit to the Obscura Gallery we drove to the center of town and took a brief walk near the Art Museum. I snapped a few shots with the Olympus Infinity Stylus on the way as I wanted some more images made in good outdoor light to subject to iPhone scanning.
I was happy with the cellphone scans, but am still struggling a bit with the GIMP photo editor to get consistent results. I'll work on that and also try to come up with some kind of support for the camera to smooth the work flow.
Scanning a roll of film with the old flatbed was a half day process, so the time saved with the cellphone scanning seems like a real gift.

You're getting images usable on the Web for sure. In the shot with the bicycle I see some artifacts in the fine details that remind me of what happens when you zoom too much with a phone.
I'm appreciative of any comments and suggestions. Doing about anything with the cellphone is something of a challenge for me as I have generally avoiding using it for anything beyond the most basic necessity. Also, a lot of the information on the web about doing macro photography is not really helpful because of the differences in capabilities and features of the many available models.
Some familiar scenes. I miss Santa Fe. We need to get back there soon. Thanks for the great shots.
We have resolved this year to get out of town more often, and Santa Fe was a good place to start as it is only an hour up the road.
Great scanning from an iPhone! What particular app are you using? I'd like to give it a try.
There are apps like Snapseed to do photo editi'ng on your iphone. I just import the negative images directly to my computer's photo editor and do the inversion to positive and tonal adjustments there. B&H sells the Vello device for holding your phone and it has a light panel and film holders which make the process a lot more efficient.
