With the nice Spring weather we've been having I was pretty sure I would find a Friday morning car show in progress in the Old Town Plaza.

Moving up to a ten dollar camera
I haven't used my yard sale Nikon EM much since acquiring it about four years ago. The main reason for that is that I have a couple of other very good Nikons including an FE and an F2. The EM does have some nice features, though, and I'm going to try to use it more. The camera is compact and light weight. With the Series E 1.8/50mm lens mounted it is easy to carry and even shoot one-handed.

The world needs more car shows. Always a great place to make some photographs.
Isn't it wonderful to have such a wealth of good gear that something as lovely as an EM gets used only occasionally?
It is pretty seldom I get out of the house without a camera. The light-weight EM seems a lot easier to tote along than the Nikon heavyweights, but it takes most of the same fine lenses. I have a couple 50mm lenses and a 28mm that fit the EM. If I had a good short telephoto or a decent zoom I would probably be more motivated the use the camera.
We are fortunate to live at a time when digital photography has made a camera like this available for ten bucks! And we still have film to feed it!!
It's always a thrill to find these fine cameras at thrift stores and yard sales. Looking at my sagging display shelves, though, I should probably start resisting the temptation to pick up yet another film camera. I'm going to try to stick with using the Nikons for a while. I really haven't produced enough good images with the great examples that I have.
I "shutter" to think of the vintage cameras my parents owed and threw away.
