My Panda likes the winter light.

If you are looking for a camera that's fun to shoot, it is hard to beat the little Ansco Panda box camera.

This was Fuji Acros processed in D-76 at 1+1 dilution.

  1. I like the brick steps. The shadows are nice and the texture in the brick feels real.

  4. I give a lot of credit to the camera and its designer. It was a real stroke of genius to couple a short focal length to a wrap-around film path, creating a 6x6 box camera that was half the size of any other. Mine has the added benefit of a brilliant viewfinder with grungy edges that mirrors the effect of the lens on the film image.

  5. By the way, I like your photo blog.
Interesting, informative, and I think I'll get a box soon.
It will probably be no Ansco Panda, which is rarely ... but maybe a Adox 66 or Genos camera.
So, warm regards from Germany-Saxonia;City Leipzig.

  6. Thanks for dropping in, Dirk. I have several box cameras I like in addition to the Panda. I've gotten pictures I like from all of them. I would guess you could also easily find a Click or a Clack in your neighborhood.
