While I don't shoot many close ups, it's nice to have something that is more than capable of handling it well.astrobeckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15398861900714068664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423901.post-42862784138824164332017-02-15T07:28:53.122-07:002017-02-15T07:28:53.122-07:00Close focusing is a feature I especially appreciat...Close focusing is a feature I especially appreciate in cameras. I have some cameras and lenses that are capable of making very nice images, but are not up to the challenge of grabbing a close-up shot when I find one I would like. The Pentax Takumars will get just about anything that interests me, and I also nearly always carry along at least one screw-on close-up accessory lens. I like the little Olympus mju for the same reason. Surprisingly, the old Argus AF and A2F will also get you within 15 inches of your subject.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00776670666673938282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423901.post-87954016593303929012017-02-14T20:54:17.558-07:002017-02-14T20:54:17.558-07:00Nice work. It adds a little versatility that the Nikkors don't offer.James Harrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04115005148651311733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423901.post-22505690438257503152017-02-14T08:02:57.984-07:002017-02-14T08:02:57.984-07:00I should add that while the H3v does not have a me...I should add that while the H3v does not have a meter, the depth of focus switch on the Takumar lenses is a big help in evaluating a composition's foreground/background relationships.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00776670666673938282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423901.post-70143098077862282242017-02-14T07:13:06.055-07:002017-02-14T07:13:06.055-07:00As it turned out, all of the shots I show here wer...As it turned out, all of the shots I show here were made with the Takumar set to its minimum focal distance. I did do quite a few with the tripod and some screw-in closeup lenses, but I didn't like the results of any of those. I enjoy the challenge of still life and macro, and the processing and scanning gave me something productive to do while Margaret entertained the dozen ladies in her choir group.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00776670666673938282noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1423901.post-68912353418962851262017-02-14T06:12:11.803-07:002017-02-14T06:12:11.803-07:00Nice stuff! I need to try this during the next rainy spell...which these days seems to come pretty often here in NorCal. :-)JR Smithnoreply@blogger.com
